Christmas is a time of year where everyone should be able to open presents, have a nice meal all in the comfort of their home. But sadly, this isn’t the case for a growing minority, as more and more people find themselves on the streets this Christmas.
Many people raised money for Grantham Ark, a charity launched in 2020 by the vicar of St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham. The Ark provides temporary accommodation, an address, plus support services that help break the cycle that’s stopping local people from getting back on their feet.
Mrs. S. James, English teacher at Carres Grammar school Sleaford, participated in a charity sponsorship to raise funds for the homeless. Spending a night outdoors with others she commented that when she woke up, “I felt rather guilty due to it only being one night and I was guaranteed safety”, but she was pleased with the amount of money she raised a miraculous £300.
When asked, if she felt like she made an impact, she commented, “yes, I believe I made a positive impact with my donations”.
Her opinions on homelessness include needing more social housing, due to them stopping the building programme and that you should be able to wake up every morning feeling safe.

Fantastic article! I think Mrs James did amazingly 🙂 I’m not sure I would have been able to do it!
Well done. This is a really interesting article and well done to Mrs James.
A great effort from Mrs James to support a great cause.
Thank you for writing an article about Grantham Ark’s fundraising. It will widen awareness of a very important issue.
